April McWilliams

Chair of Human Resources

April McWilliams is Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer with the Brookings Institution, a 501c3 public policy research think tank, in Washington D.C. She joined in 2013 and directly oversees Brookings employment function, supports Brookings’ diversity and inclusion efforts and advises and assists the Chief Human Resources Officer in the full range of matters pertaining to the operation and delivery of HR services. April operates as a senior level HR professional and ensures high quality services are provided to Brookings programs and business units.

April earned a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Management with a concentration in Organization Development from Marymount University. Her undergraduate degree is in Marketing from Hampton University. She also hold both the SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications.

Prior to joining Brookings, she was the Human Resources Director for the Pew Research Center. April has over 20 years of human resources experience within the non-profit sector.
